Have you ever opened your fridge and discovered an annoyingly unpleasant odor?
These odors can appear quickly and surprise you and may remain for days, sometimes weeks, and getting rid of them is not always easy.
You may try to remove all food from the refrigerator to find the source of the bad smell, but you are surprised that it is still present as if it permeated the walls of the refrigerator itself, so how should you act in this situation?
There are a number of natural kitchen contents available on hand that are able to remove unpleasant odors, especially those in your fridge, here are some of them:
Baking soda and water are a natural cleaning solution, and can be used on most surfaces around the house. You can also spray baking soda on a damp sponge to wipe inside the refrigerator, and a small bowl of baking soda placed at the back of the refrigerator works to absorb odors, and it only needs To change every 3 months.
Add a little vanilla extract in a flat bowl or bottle cap, or you can soak cotton balls in vanilla extract and leave them in the fridge to absorb odors and make them smell good again.

Place a small bowl of fresh, uncovered ground coffee in the freezer or fridge, leave it for a few days and any unconventional odors will disappear. You can even reuse the leftover coffee you used to make your morning coffee.
Women rely on vinegar as a reliable household cleaner, which can also be used to get rid of odors inside the refrigerator, and for ease of cleaning with it, fill a spray bottle with half white vinegar and the other half with warm water, then use the sprayer to spray inside the refrigerator.
The vinegar will neutralize any unpleasant odors, and its strong acidity will destroy any stuck-on food, so make sure to wipe off the vinegar well afterwards to remove its smell.
If you run out of baking soda that you often use, try oatmeal. An open container of dry oats in the refrigerator will neutralize odors better than baking soda.
Use citrus fruits
One of the best ways to get rid of unpleasant odors from the refrigerator is to empty a grapefruit or orange and fill it with salt and put it in the back of the refrigerator. Leave it in place until the salt is completely wet, then get rid of everything and replace it with a new one.
The salt extracts the wonderful citrus scent like an orange and spreads it around, making the entire refrigerator smell like fresh fruit.

Time to clean your fridge
Sometimes the problem is more than just a few food smells, if you need to deeply clean your fridge, do not use chemicals that can remain on the shelves and produce toxic odors.
After separating the refrigerator and emptying it from its contents, dissolve a cup of salt in a liter of hot water and wipe it down. This solution will clean the refrigerator and remove unpleasant odors from it in a safe way, then dry the interior with a towel before putting back the shelves, food and drink.
Good food storage
Food should be stored properly, be sure to use airtight containers and clean any spills regularly.
Arrange your food well in the fridge, and put expiration dates on food containers.
Watch for some food that slips easily into the back of the fridge, gets forgotten, and then breaks down, spoils, and smells unpleasant.
Check the temperature
Check if the temperature is set in the refrigerator and that the drain system is not blocked.
If the weather inside the refrigerator is warm and not cold enough, it will encourage the growth of microbes and accelerate food spoilage inside, ideally the temperature inside the refrigerator should be between 4 and 5 degrees.
