Oberstdorf (dpa) - In the corona chaos around the Polish ski jumpers, a surprising turn is looming at the Four Hills Tournament.

The Poles around Kamil Stoch, Dawid Kubacki and Co. should still be allowed to start if a third series of corona tests turns out consistently negative.

The FIS World Ski Federation announced this late on Monday evening.

The Pole Klemens Muranka had initially tested positive for the virus, whereupon the team was excluded from the tour start in Oberstdorf.

When another test by Muranka turned out negative in the evening, the Polish side said that they wanted to start in the Allgäu as well.

Should Muranka and his colleagues all test negative in the third round, all 62 jumpers would be at the start on Tuesday (4.30 p.m. / ZDF and Eurosport).

The usual knockout duels would then be omitted.

In addition, in this case the Poles should have the opportunity in the afternoon to catch up on training jumps on the Schattenbergschanze that were canceled on Monday.
