Potsdam / Grünheide (dpa) - Brandenburg's Prime Minister Dietmar Woidke (SPD) hopes for a swift approval of the construction of the factory of US electric car manufacturer Tesla from the country.
However, he refers to the ongoing proceedings.
"Of course I hope that the immission control permit can be issued and signed as soon as possible," said Woidke of the German Press Agency.
But he emphasized: “That will be the case when all factual and technical questions have been clarified.
I am the supreme head of all approval authorities in Brandenburg, which also explains my reluctance to mention any dates. "
The electric car manufacturer plans to start production in Grünheide near Berlin in July next year.
Tesla is currently only building through a few provisional approvals, the decision on the final environmental approval by the state of Brandenburg is still pending.
Conservationists and residents warn of the negative consequences of the factory for the environment.

The head of government said there would be no pressure on the approval authorities.
"We are well advised to have the patience to process the individual procedural steps properly and, above all, not to do one thing: to exert political pressure in any way," said Woidke.
“There is no Lex Tesla.
The procedure must be legally secure. "
The authorities worked under high pressure and did a "great job".
"Everyone knows what depends on this project for the country, for the region, for all of Germany."
Tesla can continue to build, although a security deposit of 100 million euros for possible dismantling costs is missing.
According to the Ministry of the Environment, Brandenburg agreed with Tesla on an extended deadline for filing until January 15.
In a letter of comfort, the company promised the country security for all early permits for construction work.
The Naturschutzbund and the Brandenburg Green League see this as a contradiction to statements that there is no special treatment for Tesla.
They demand that the company provide a security deposit immediately.
The company had previously not provided the service on time by December 17th, following an early approval for further deforestation and the installation of machines for the paint shop.
Then the work was suspended for the time being.
According to a court ruling, Tesla cannot clear peripheral areas because of the protection of sand lizards.
