Rostock (dpa / mv) - Short-time working is announced at the Neptun shipyard in Rostock-Warnemünde until the end of April next year.

Thanks to this instrument and an investment freeze, an austerity package and the reduction in the number of temporary employees, there is planning security until this date, the company announced on Monday.

Neptun Werft, a subsidiary of Meyer Werft in Papenburg (Lower Saxony), currently employs almost 700 people.

Despite the adverse circumstances caused by the corona pandemic, the company was able to deliver two of the 140-meter-long engine room modules (Floating Engine Room Unit - Feru) to Meyer Werft in Papenburg and some hotel blocks to Meyer Turku in Finland this year.

In addition, six river cruise ships have been completed in the year now ending.

The river cruise is primarily about optimizing the hygiene conditions through Corona and further reducing pollutants and emissions, it said.

The delivery of two river cruise ships is planned for this year, as well as the completion of four engine room modules.
