Since the first large-scale international conference in Japan will be held in Kyoto next March after the spread of the new coronavirus, the Ministry of Justice will oblige PCR tests and rent a dedicated hotel to enforce restrictions on going out. We will take all possible measures against infection.

The United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, commonly known as the "Kyoto Congress," where judicial ministers from each country discuss international crime countermeasures, will be held in Kyoto City from March 7th to 6th next year. It will be the first large-scale international conference in Japan since the spread of the infection.

With a total of 350 delegations from up to 30 countries and UN staff expected to visit Japan, the Ministry of Justice is considering special measures to exceptionally allow participants to enter the country.

Specifically, instead of exempting them from waiting after entering Japan, they will be required to carry out PCR tests before departure and after entering Japan, and during their stay, they will stay at a dedicated hotel rented out for participants.

In addition, we will take all possible measures against infection, such as moving to the venue by a dedicated bus and not allowing people to go out except for the hotel and the venue.

The Ministry of Justice has a policy of flexibly using an online conference system according to the infection situation, and says, "I want to use it as a model case for international conferences in the Corona."
