The ambassadors of the Member States to the European Union have therefore approved the agreement which will seal future relations between Brussels and London.
However,
the post-Brexit process is not over
, the governments of the Member States must give the green light.
This is the next step expected for this Tuesday.
As for the British Parliament, it will vote on the agreement on Wednesday.
From there, the provisional agreement will enter into force, from January 1 until February 28.
1,200 pages to study
February 28 is the deadline by which the European Parliament must definitively ratify the text.
But the vote is already in danger of being postponed.
Indeed, the leaders of several parties have indicated that they will need more time.
MEPs have their work cut out for them.
They have only a few weeks to study the 1,200 pages of this rather complex agreement.
