Kiel (dpa / lno) - With 2.5 million euros from a hardship fund, Schleswig-Holstein is participating in an emergency aid program for the film industry in the Corona crisis.

State Chancellor Dirk Schrödter signed the corresponding agreements with the German film funding agency, as the government headquarters announced on Monday.

"Securing Schleswig-Holstein as a film location is important to us," said Schrödter. "With our support, we ensure that Schleswig-Holstein production companies can continue to produce films and series even in uncertain pandemic times." This would preserve added value and jobs in the country. "Quality productions are also one of the prerequisites for maintaining the cinemas as cultural locations." With the default fund, film productions are to be secured against interruptions and postponements of shooting due to pandemics.
