Early on Sunday, the snow falls in several places in Sweden, but during the morning the precipitation turns to wet snow and rain.

Then it can get really slippery and SMHI class 1 warns of sudden ice slip in Värmland, Västerbotten, Västernorrland, Västmanland and Örebro counties.

- When the snowfall turns to rain, it can be really slippery during the morning because the roads are so cold, especially in Svealand, says SVT's meteorologist Maria Augutis.

Heavy snowfall

Heavy snowfall is expected in Lapland and Norrbotten and locally there can be up to 20 centimeters of snow.

There can also be a lot of snow and wind along the coast of Västerbotten on Sunday afternoon.

- In the Lapland mountains, SMHI warns of very strong winds and the risk of drift formation, so you should probably not go on a trip in that area on Sunday.

There may also be drifting snow along the coast of Västerbotten.

In Stockholm, the snow fell on Christmas Eve, but it unfortunately seems to thaw or rain away on Sunday when the weather changes and becomes milder.

Warning for gale force winds

On Sunday it will be really windy both on the Baltic Sea, Lake Vänern and along the west coast.

SMHI warns of gales on all fairways.

- There could be quite strong winds on the Öland Bridge, for example.

Wind gusts of up to 17 meters per second in the Sound mean that the Swedish Transport Administration has also issued a warning for wind-sensitive vehicles, which is recommended not to drive over the Sound Bridge on Sunday.
