Oberstdorf (dpa) - Ski flying world champion Karl Geiger was released from the corona quarantine in time after his infection and can start the 69th Four Hills Tournament.

The second PCR test also turned out negative on Sunday evening;

Geiger had tested negative for the virus once earlier this week.

All jumpers must have completed a test before the tour.

The 27-year-old, who tested positive almost two weeks ago, said: “Fortunately, I did not develop any symptoms.

I was doing very well from the beginning to the end of the quarantine. "

He is happy to be able to get some fresh air again.

After Geiger's positive test, the German ski jumping team competed in Engelberg without last year's overall runner-up.

The other athletes and coaches have all tested negative since then.

Geiger's infection this winter was the first corona case among German ski jumpers, who follow a strict protection concept, always wear masks at award ceremonies and have even recently held team meetings via zoom.
