According to the statistics, the number of attempted and completed break-ins has halved since 2014 and amounted to 4,342 in 2019. During the Corona lockdown in spring, the number of break-ins has fallen significantly compared to the same period last year - in April 2020 by around 50 Percent and in May by about 30 percent.
In autumn there were more break-ins than in spring, albeit less than in autumn 2019.
Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann (CSU) emphasized the danger, however: “With the start of the dark season, burglars are booming again.

That is why more controls are scheduled for the winter half-year.
One wants to focus specifically on "traveling groups of offenders and thus above all on supra-regional traffic routes and their alternative routes".
