Dresden (dpa / sn) - In Dresden, an 80-year-old was cheated of several thousand euros on the phone with a nasty trick.
A stranger pretended to be the prosecutor general and told the senior that he was to be extradited to Turkey for criminal proceedings, the police said on Sunday.
To avoid extradition, the 80-year-old should transfer money.
The man complied with this request.
Then there were further calls with demands for payment - these were also met by the senior.
The 80-year-old was defrauded of several thousand euros with the scam, the police did not give an exact amount.
