Berlin (dpa) - The Füchse Berlin have celebrated a successful year-end.

In the last game before the World Cup break in January, the Berlin team won on Sunday at TBV Lemgo with 29:23 (16:11).

For the team of coach Jaron Siewert it was already the eighth win in the handball Bundesliga in a row.

The Foxes remain fourth in the table.

The best Berlin throwers were Jacob Holm with eight and Hans Lindberg with six goals.

The Foxes started confidently and underlined their good shape over the past few weeks.

They were very effective offensively and after just 14 minutes they had already extended their lead to five points (9: 4).

Especially playmaker Holm turned up, he made four of the first five Berlin goals.

But in the middle of the first half, some lack of concentration crept into the game of the foxes.

A few technical errors and missed throws ensured that Lemgo came back with a 4-0 run (8: 9).

But the foxes stayed calm.

With good cover and nine strong saves from goalkeeper Dejan Milosavljev in the first half, they were able to extend their lead back to five goals before the break.

After the break, the hosts defended more intensely and the Füchse failed more and more against Lemgo keeper Peter Johannesson.

There was also bad luck with some aluminum hits.

The hosts came close to three goals in the middle of the second half (19:22).

But the Foxes stayed calm and in the end confidently brought the lead to the finish.
