Coburg / Kulmbach (dpa / lby) - Due to inconsistencies in the cold chain when transporting the vaccine, the planned start of the corona vaccination had to be postponed in eight Upper Franconian districts and the associated cities.
The regions of Coburg, Lichtenfels, Kronach, Hof, Bayreuth, Wunsiedel, Forchheim and Kulmbach were affected.
It was only possible to vaccinate in Upper Franconia in the city and district of Bamberg.
Initially, six district administrators had announced that, as a precaution, vaccination should be avoided due to a deviation from the normal values for cooling in the transport boxes - including Germany's current top corona hotspot Coburg, where, according to the Robert Koch Institute, a seven-day period on Sunday - Incidence of 543 was reported.
Forchheim and Bayreuth were added later.
In the meantime there had been similar problems in Swabia.
