The recommendation committee of the Chief of the High-ranking Officials Crime Investigation Office will try to select the final candidate tomorrow (28th).

The recommendation committee is planning to hold a sixth meeting at the National Assembly at 2 pm tomorrow and decide on the agenda for nominating candidates.

The recommendation committee postponed one time at the meeting on the 18th, which was first held after the revision of the Airlift Act, which eased the quorum of votes to five, without making a conclusion immediately.

In the meantime, no additional nominations have been made, and one recommendation from the opposition party, which was vacant, has been newly selected, and there is an opinion that the resolution cannot be postponed further as the procedural problem disappears.

There is a high possibility that two will be selected from Senior Researcher Jinwook Kim and Hyeonjeong Jeon, who received the most 5 votes at the previous meeting, and Geon-ri Lee, Vice Chairman of the Civil Rights Commission, who received 4 votes.

In addition, the Democratic Party is in a position that even if the opposition party's two nominating committee members oppose it, the other five nominating committee members will vote to finalize the recommendation.

The Democratic Party, which was hit hard by Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol's return to duty, plans to tighten the reins of institutional prosecution reform with the launch of the airlift in the beginning of the year.

On the other hand, the people's strength is that if the opposition party's veto power is incapacitated and unilaterally recommends candidates, it will actively block them.

After filing a constitutional petition on the amendment to the Airlift Act, the People's Power is also reviewing a plan to file a lawsuit for invalidating the resolution led by the nominating committee.
