London (dpa) - As the last remaining German, Gabriel Clemens wants to provide a novelty at the Darts World Cup in London.

The 37-year-old from Saarland is playing today (8.15 p.m. / Sport1 and DAZN) against Scotland's world champion Peter Wright and could be the first German in the history of the World Cup to reach the round of 16.

Clemens is considered a great outsider against “Snakebite”, but in 2020 he already defeated some world-class professionals.

“The German Giant”, as Clemens is called, replaced Max Hopp as the best German professional and clearly defeated his compatriot Nico Kurz 3-1 in the second round of the World Cup.
