Königsmoos (dpa / lby) - Two people were injured by a burning Christmas tree in Königsmoos in Upper Bavaria (Neuburg-Schrobenhausen district).
On the evening of Christmas Day, the tree caught fire for an unexplained cause, as the police announced on Sunday.
The 83-year-old apartment owner and her 64-year-old daughter were brought to a hospital with smoke poisoning after the fire in the ground floor apartment of the apartment building.
Around 60 firefighters could have brought the fire under control quickly.
According to initial estimates, the apartment was damaged by 50,000 euros.
The criminal police have taken over investigations into the cause of the fire.
There were no indications of arson.
