Dubai / Munich (dpa) - One and a half weeks after being honored as a world footballer, Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski received another international award.
The 32-year-old Pole accepted the “Globe Soccer Award” trophy for Player of the Year in Dubai on Sunday.
A 23-person jury, including the German referee Felix Brych, chose the winners.
In terms of prestige, the prize is not comparable to the award from the world association FIFA, which the Bayern Munich striker received a few days before Christmas.
In the presence of FIFA President Gianni Infantino, Lewandowski received the “Globe Soccer Award” trophy in Dubai on Sunday, while he was watching the election of the world football player via video.
Infantino later presented him with the FIFA award in Munich.
