The Integrated Transport Center of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi confirmed that crossing fees for “Abu Dhabi Traffic” gates will be applied only four times a day, while the fifth time or more will be completely free.

The new traffic toll system will start to be activated, as of next Saturday, through four gates located on the bridges leading to Abu Dhabi city, namely, "Sheikh Zayed Bridge, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Bridge, Al Maqtaa Bridge and Mussafah Bridge", in a step aimed at enhancing the flow of traffic Roads and raising the efficiency of the transport sector.

According to the center, four dirhams are charged from each vehicle for each time it passes any of the four gates during peak times from Saturday to Thursday (in the morning period from seven to nine, and in the evening from five to seven), pointing to the deduction of fees. According to the center, four categories of transit fees will be exempted, including senior citizens, retired citizens, and people of determination, in addition to low-income citizens, provided that the exemption is only for one vehicle for any of these categories, calling on citizens who meet these characteristics to submit Requests for exemption from fees by registering on the "Darb" website, or via the electronic application "Darb - Traffic Tariffs".

The center explained that the maximum daily fees for individual vehicles subject to traffic tariff fees and passing through the toll gates, at peak times and outside holidays, will be 16 dirhams, which is the outcome of crossing the gates four times during the peak period, provided that the passage is free of charge without additional fees as of The fifth time to cross during the period to which the fees are applied, while the upper limit of the monthly traffic tariff fee for these vehicles is 200 dirhams for the first vehicle, and 150 dirhams for the second vehicle for individuals, while the upper limit of the monthly traffic tariff fee for the third vehicle is for individuals subject to the traffic tariff fees at peak times and outside Holidays: 100 dirhams, provided that this ceiling applies to the third vehicle and the following vehicles owned by the account holder registered with the traffic toll system.

The center indicated that there are six types of violations that are calculated in the traffic toll system, including the violation of the unregistered vehicle when crossing the gate for the first time, as it is calculated at a value of 100 dirhams, after the end of the grace period (10 working days) from the traffic date without registering the vehicle, and the vehicle violation. Unregistered when crossing the gate for the second time, it is calculated at a value of 200 dirhams, after the grace period ends without registering the vehicle, while a fine of 400 dirhams is calculated for a vehicle that is not registered in the toll-to-toll system, for each traffic after the second time, after the end of the grace period.

The list of six offenses also includes a violation of 50 dirhams in the event that the balance is insufficient for vehicles bearing plates that are not affiliated with the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, after the end of the grace period (5 working days) without sufficient balance in the vehicle’s wallet, and a violation of 10 thousand dirhams in case of tampering Vehicle license plate, for the purpose of evading the payment of traffic tariff fees, and another violation of 10 thousand dirhams is calculated in the event of damage to any of the electronic payment devices or toll gates.
