Russian leader Vladimir Putin, during a meeting of the State Council on December 23, recommended making December 31 a day off at the regional level.
As Putin noted, a decision must be made in 2021 in order to “organize this holiday for the future” already at the federal level.
Later, Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov said that the Ministry of Labor would develop amendments to the Labor Code in 2021 to make December 31 a non-working day.
