The General Pensions and Social Security Authority confirmed that the total pension increase that insured female citizens can receive may reach 20%, if they buy a nominal service period of 10 years of service, so that every year the insured is given a 2% increase in her pension , Explaining that it is a condition for the insured woman to submit her resignation after completing 20 years of service in order to purchase this period.

The Authority stated that the purchase of a nominal service period aims to improve the pension of the insured citizen upon retirement, and not to complete the period determined for retirement entitlement in the event of resignation.

She explained, during an informative campaign launched on her official pages on social media platforms, that a woman may buy 10 years of legal service, while a man can buy five years, provided that every year gives the insured a 2% increase in his pension, which means that the total increase In a woman’s pension it is 20%, compared to 10% for a man.

She indicated that the insured who wishes to purchase should submit a written request to his workplace, in order for it to in turn communicate with the authority, and complete the request via the electronic service from the services package of employers or the insured available on the website.

According to the commission, the Pensions Law equates between men and women in privileges and rights, but it expands the rights of women, given the multiple roles they play in community service, as the law gives widows the right to combine her salary from work and her share in her husband's pension, and between her personal pension and her share In the pension of her deceased husband, it also gives her the right to purchase 10 years of nominal service, at the rate of 20%, after she has spent 20 years in service, because the purchased period is not considered to be complementary to the period required for the entitlement of the retirement pension, but rather aims to improve the pension percentage.

The Commission stressed that the pension in the law is not inherited, and therefore the shares of the beneficiaries are not distributed in accordance with the provisions of Sharia law, while it is distributed equally between the girl’s share of the pension of her mother or her father with the share of the boy without discrimination, because the law does not differentiate between the boy and the girl when distributing the pension. It indicates that sometimes the daughter receives a pension greater than her male brothers when there is more than one widow in the pension, as her mother’s pension reverts to her upon death.

According to the authority, if the daughter's share in the pension of the father or mother is cut off due to marriage or joining work, her suspended share will be refunded in the event that she is divorced, widowed, or leaves work, and she does not have a pension or salary, confirming that the Pensions Law went beyond this case. When I acknowledge that in the event that the girl is widowed or divorced after the death of the father or mother, and she does not have a salary or pension, and she was not entitled to a share in the pension of her father or mother upon death, a share for her is created without prejudice to the shares of other beneficiaries, and it is one of the cases in which it appears The generosity of the Pensions Act.

She stated that, unlike the boy, the age does not leave the girl out of the pension, where she remains in it, unless the conditions of entitlement are excluded from her right, while the boy goes out of the pension if he joined a job, or reached the age of 21, or 28 if he was a student.
