Chairman Fang Qiaosheng stated that under the leadership of the first and second councils with Mr. Ni Liangxin as the president, and under the leadership of the third and fourth councils with Lord Yang Qiqiu as the president, The Cambodian-Chinese Council united all overseas Chinese, regained the ancestral business of the association, promoted the resumption of classes in Chinese schools, restored traditional Chinese customs, promoted business exchanges, and helped the disadvantaged groups in the Chinese community.
Five Great Halls, Clan Associations of Family Names, Cambodian Chinese Branches of Provinces, Cities and Counties, Chinese Schools, Chinese Newspapers, Temples, Mutual Aid Associations, and Lion Dance Groups were established one after another, and actively served the majority of overseas Chinese.
He said that since the establishment of the Fifth Council in 2017, with the goal of serving millions of overseas Chinese and overseas Chinese, on the basis of the original results, Cambodia and China will further play a greater role, and it has been achieved through the diligent wisdom and hard work of the overseas Chinese. The results have promoted Cambodia-China friendship and Cambodia’s economic development, thereby enhancing the social status of the Chinese.
Fang Qiaosheng said that as the largest organization of the Cambodian Chinese Society, we actively support the four corners strategic policy implemented by the Cambodian government, actively cooperate with the Royal Government to carry out public welfare activities for poverty alleviation, and play a role in attracting investment.
At the same time, in terms of education, in addition to supporting all Cambodian Chinese schools and opening teacher training centers to train local Chinese teachers for Chinese schools, we also set up Cambodian Chinese University of Technology to cultivate elite talents for the country's future development.
Fang Qiaosheng said that we encourage Chinese schools to carry out the love of ancestral home education, so that the descendants of Chinese descent can inherit the ancestral home culture and understand the roots.
