The health situation has deteriorated markedly in recent weeks in the Grand Est region, to the point that local elected officials are calling on the government for rapid re-containment.

The president of the Grand Est region, Jean Rottner, advocates for his part a "short reconfinement" the time to "bring down the curves".

INTERVIEW

The epidemic figures are worrying in the Grand-Est region.

This week, the ARS assessed the incidence rate, or the number of new cases per 100,000 inhabitants, at 230, a figure much higher than in the rest of France.

Some elected officials of the Grand Est Region are already calling on the government and the health authorities, demanding, like the mayors of Nancy and Reims, an imminent reconfinement.

"I am not far from sharing this opinion," said the president of the region, Jean Rottner, guest of Europe 1 on Saturday morning.

He recommends a “short reconfinement” which would make it possible to “relapse the curves”.
