As the police announced on Saturday, the woman had driven to an intersection the day before to turn.
She overlooked a car that had the right of way.
As a result of the collision, the 82-year-old's car was thrown into a hedge and damaged.
She was only slightly injured, but her injured husband as a passenger died in the hospital in Oldenburg.
In the other car, the driver (39) and his passenger (29) were slightly injured.
The family's three children, who were not injured, were also in the car.
