In the United States, in just three weeks, two unarmed African-Americans were killed by white police officers.

We have an officer who violated his oath to abide by the rules and policies of the Columbus police

," said Thomas Quinlan, the city's police chief on Thursday, December 24.

During the night from Monday to Tuesday, a police officer intervenes in front of the garage of a house.

He was called to the neighborhood for a minor incident.

It will only engage its pedestrian camera after firing, but on this model the previous 60 seconds are automatically recorded.

Andre Hill is seen walking slowly towards the policeman, showing a cell phone in his left hand, his other hand not visible.

The policeman steps back, he fires: Andre Hill, 47, collapses.

The agent and his colleague do not give him first aid, he will die a little later in the hospital.

No guns on him

Andre Hill had no weapons.

On Wednesday 23 December, the mayor of Columbus had already called for the dismissal of the police officer, who according to local media was already the subject of complaints for "

excessive use

 " of force.

This Thursday, in the neighborhood where Andre Hill died, dozens of people demonstrated to denounce police violence against African Americans, and demand justice.

Three weeks ago, still in Columbus, another African-American was killed by a policeman, according to his family he was holding a sandwich in his hand that the police mistook for a weapon.

We also remember that the

death of Georges Floyd

, an African-American also killed by a police officer at the end of May, had provoked a wave of demonstrations against racism and police violence in the country.
