Munich (dpa / lby) - A resident died in a fire in a senior citizen's home in Munich.
A nurse had noticed heavy smoke from an apartment late on Wednesday evening and triggered the alarm, as the fire department reported on Thursday.
The emergency services evacuated the affected part of the building and recovered a person using a turntable ladder.
For the resident of the apartment in which the fire broke out, however, the rescue came too late.
The cause of the fire and the damage caused were initially unclear.
