Wiesbaden (dpa) - Second division soccer team Jahn Regensburg has made it into the round of 16 of the DFB Cup for the third time in the club's history.

Bayern won 4-2 on penalties at third division club SV Wehen Wiesbaden on Wednesday evening.

After 120 minutes it was 0-0.

Phillip Tietz and Dominik Prokop shot out during labor.

In an intense first half, both teams gave each other nothing.

Numerous duels, a lot of fighting and few scoring chances shaped the game.

Tietz had the lead on foot for the home side (30th minute).

However, his shot from five meters went over the gate.

Shortly before the break whistle, Max Besuschkow (45th) caused a moment of shock for the Wiesbadeners, but he only hit the post.

After the restart, goal opportunities were largely absent.

Almost 20 minutes before the end, Regensburg picked up the pace without being able to take a decisive role in front of the goal.

The third division team from the Hessian state capital held against it with a lot of commitment and will, but in the offensive game there was no penetration.

Maurice Malone had the chance to win from a suspicious position for Wehen, but failed because of Regensburg's goalkeeper Alexander Meyer (90th + 1).

In extra time, the guests missed taking the lead.

Both substitute Jan-Marc Schneider (104th/105th) and Besuschkow (105th + 1) did not put the ball in the goal in a promising position.
