More than 100 civilians were killed in an attack by militants in western Ethiopia

More than 100 people were killed in an armed attack carried out today in Benishangul-Gomez, Ethiopia.


In a statement, the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission stated that gunmen shot people in the Bolin region in the western region of Ethiopia, and set fire to the homes of residents while they were sleeping.

The attack took place on Wednesday in the Penishangul-Gumuz region, one day after Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed visited her.

The region has witnessed 4 bloody attacks since last September, including an attack on a bus that killed 34 people.
