Saarbrücken (dpa / lrs) - In the second tough lockdown, the police in Saarland regularly have to deal with violations of corona rules at private parties.

Unfortunately, there are always deliberate violations in connection with private celebrations, said the Ministry of the Interior in Saarbrücken at the request of the German Press Agency.

The police must dissolve events and initiate proceedings against those involved.

In the period between 16 and 22 December alone, regulatory offense proceedings were initiated against almost 100 people.

Last Saturday, for example, emergency services reportedly broke up a celebration in a motorcycle club with 16 participants in the Saarbrücken district of Gersweiler, and a company celebration in Qui Various-Göttelborn on Tuesday evening.

A beer cart and beer table sets were found there, participants had hidden from the police, and there was presumably a fight at the celebration.

"It must be clear to everyone that this is not the time for large-scale celebrations," emphasized the Interior Ministry.

Overall, according to the ministry, the police checked compliance with the Corona Ordinance or other infection protection regulations in almost 6,000 operations from December 16 to 22.

Especially in shops and public transport was checked.

The bottom line was that around 250 administrative offense proceedings were initiated.
