The Dubai Criminal Court began the trial of an unemployed Gulf man who lured employees in a phone shop, by requesting to buy an iPhone X phone through the store's account on the Facebook application, then threatening them with a knife and stealing the phone, and - according to the investigations of the Public Prosecution - even though he used his personal account, and appeared in his face Then, he was arrested directly and accused of committing the felony theft by threatening to use a weapon.

The owner of the store said in the investigations of the Public Prosecution that the accused contacted them through the store's account on Facebook, and asked to purchase the phone and deliver it to him in Hor Al Anz, Dubai.

He added that at the request of the accused, two employees were assigned to meet him, and they were communicating with him to guide them to the place of the meeting near the Union Cooperative Society. Then he fled.

He indicated that the police had been informed of the incident, which obtained the identity of the accused through his Facebook account and the picture he uses, and then he was pursued and arrested.

For their part, the two employees of the victim said that they were surprised by the accused’s behavior, especially in light of his communication with them through his account, noting that they were afraid of his reaction when he took out the knife, before he stole the phone and ran away. The accused also admitted the incident in the police inference report and the Public Prosecution investigations.
