Most other facilities in northern Dalarna open at the end of the week, while Skistar chose to "sneak open" already on Monday, including in Lindvallen.
SVT's reporter Sofie Lind was out on the slopes both at the opening and during the day.
She testifies that there are some tourists up in the area - but also believes that thousands are expected in the coming weeks before the Christmas and New Year holidays.
The pressure in the lift queues and on the slopes will be significantly higher in the near future.
- The tourists I spoke to today have taken note of the national councils sent out today and believe that they have traveled safely to the area, she says.
