The Justice Party today (22nd) questioned the remarks of candidate Byeon Chang-heum of the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport regarding the accident of'Guui-eok Kim', saying, "It is difficult to adopt a hearing report on candidate Byeon without the understanding of the people and forgiveness of the bereaved family."

Senior spokesman Chung Ho-jin made a comment today and said, "The candidate's remorse about Kim's death cannot be recovered without deep reflection and repentance."

Earlier, Candidate Byun was criticized by public opinion because he was late to the fact that he said, "If he only paid attention to a little, it could be made like nothing happened" in relation to Kim, who died while fixing a screen door at Guui Station when he was president of SH in 2016.

Rep. Sang-jung Shim, a member of the personnel hearing committee for Candidate Byeon, also announced at today's general meeting that "(Candidate Byeon's) anachronistic perceptions should be checked and expelled."

He said, "Did you think that you could break the hearts of the bereaved family and citizens with such terrible words and turn the hearts of the people back with a conventional apology?" He said, "Only when the understanding of the people and forgiveness of the bereaved family are premised, can candidate Byeon be recognized as a candidate for minister." I did.

Candidate Byeon explained that the remarks were "to emphasize safety management," but the Justice Party did not accept this as a sincere apology.

It is known that Kim's colleagues also rejected Byeon's request to meet.

Some of the party also publicly demanded the withdrawal of the nomination for candidate Byeon.

In a separate commentary, Kang Min-jin, chairman of the Youth Justice Party's founding party preparatory committee, argued, "It is natural for the government to reconsider the nomination of candidates for the minister," saying, "It is a double insult to bereaved families of industrial accidents and young workers for the government to enforce the greeting of candidate Byun." I did.
