Augsburg (dpa / lby) - The city of Augsburg wants to enforce a complete ban on fireworks for the turn of the year before the Bavarian Administrative Court (VGH) in Munich.

After the administrative court in Augsburg overturned the ban on boaring on private property on New Year's Eve, the city will now call the VGH, Augsburg's official Frank Pintsch announced on Wednesday.

According to a VGH spokeswoman, a decision is not expected until the coming week.

The administrative court in Augsburg ruled on Tuesday that the complete ban on fireworks could not be based on the Infection Protection Act or the Bavarian Corona Protection Ordinance.

In Nuremberg, too, a ban on fireworks has been passed on private areas.

According to a spokesman, the city does not want to issue the relevant order until Monday (December 28).

In this case, the city of Nuremberg expects an urgent procedure before the administrative court in Ansbach.
