Sweden's Municipalities and Regions, SKR, and the employers' organization Sobona have decided to activate crisis situation agreements in three regions, after the regions have requested this.

The crisis agreement allows you to take out more working time for a period, the regular working time measure is increased to 48 hours per week.

In addition, it is possible to deposit and lend staff between affected regions.

- The Stockholm Region, the Västra Götaland Region and the Gävleborg Region have all done everything that can reasonably be required to secure staffing and exhausted all possibilities within the framework of the ordinary collective agreement.

We therefore choose, in accordance with the regions' request, to activate the crisis situation agreement in these three regions, says Joakim Larsson, chairman of the negotiating delegation in SKR in a press release.

"There are limits to what you can ask for"

The agreement makes it possible to call in staff who have already been granted leave, but in Västra Götaland it is not relevant to force home staff who have already traveled away over Christmas.

- There are limits to what you can ask of employees.

As an employee, you are not a serf.

The agreement is also based on having the strength to work more, and the most important thing right now is that the staff actually has the strength.

We will have staff next year as well, says Ann Söderström, health and medical care director in the Västra Götaland region.
