Zwickau (dpa / sn) - Without a face mask, but with alcohol in his blood, a 21-year-old attacked passengers on a tram in Zwickau.

The man had previously been approached by several passengers on Tuesday about his missing mouth and nose protection, the police said.

He then threatened bystanders and hit a 59-year-old in the face.

At a stop he fled and ran over several passers-by.

A 67-year-old woman was slightly injured.

The police hired the man, a breath alcohol test showed a value of 1.76 per mille.

The district of Zwickau is one of the corona hotspots in Germany. On Tuesday, the seven-day incidence value according to the Robert Koch Institute was 620 - and thus the third-highest level in Germany. The value indicates how many people per 100,000 inhabitants were infected with the virus within seven days.
