Berlin (dpa) - Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier has rejected criticism of the slow implementation of corona financial aid for companies and warned against abuse.
The CDU politician told the German Press Agency in Berlin: “Never before have aid payments of this magnitude been decided and approved in such a short time.
But it must be ensured that the taxpayers' money reaches those who really need it, not those who are on the move as fraudsters or rip-offs. "
If the state gives aid in the order of magnitude of up to several million euros to individual entrepreneurs, a thorough check must be carried out to determine whether the claim actually exists.
"Otherwise we would be careless with taxpayers' money, and we don't."
