Europe 1 went to the Portes du Soleil area, to meet French holidaymakers who went to ski in Switzerland, despite the government's recommendations.

In particular, they will have to carry out a PCR test a few days before heading home, because of the checks.

REPORTAGE

In Switzerland, a few privileged French people take advantage of open winter sports resorts, while ski lifts still remain closed in France due to health restrictions linked to Covid-19.

Despite the government's recommendations, these holidaymakers took the risk of crossing the border to go down the slopes, in particular that of Morgins in the Franco-Swiss area of Portes du Soleil.

An air of the world before

“We really thought we wouldn't be able to ski in 2020. But we were able to come,” Aurélie told Europe 1, taking off her skis.

She crossed the border to afford a few days of skiing with her parents, David and Magali, as in the world before.

"It's like in a movie. In France you can't do anything, and on the other side you live again", explains his father.

“Skiing, restaurants… after months of confined work, it's good to let go,” he adds.

"It is also our breath of fresh air for the year. We chose our moral health above all," argues the mother.

"Two days before departure I will go for a PCR test"

A pleasure far from being wasted by wearing a mask on the ski lifts, or by random checks on return.

"In any case, two days before departure I will go for a PCR test with my wife and my older son. That's the price to pay for skiing!", Says Mohamed.

In the parking lot of the station, many cars display French license plates.

But before leaving, some travelers also plan to take advantage of the bars and restaurants still open on the Swiss side.
