The worst affected is Halmstad, where 21 elderly people in elderly care are infected.

Hylte is the only municipality where no user in elderly care has been diagnosed with infection.

Of the 61 infected in elderly care in Halland, 42 live in special housing, while the others have home care or similar services.

When SVT Nyheter Halland conducted a similar survey on 5 November, 49 elderly people in elderly care were infected.

This is the situation in elderly care, municipality by municipality:

Halmstad

  • 21 infected, of which 18 living in nursing homes and three in home care.

The infection is present in four homes.

Eva-Karin Stenberg, medically responsible nurse:

What reasons do you see?

- The spread of society is large, probably with asymptomatic staff.

Have you applied for a restraining order or are you planning to do so?

- No, not at present.

We advise against visits in the event of an established infection.

It works.

How do you see the development since our latest survey in November?

- About as many were infected then.

Worried about Christmas with many red days.

Varberg

  • 14 infected, of which 10 in special housing, two in home care, and two who have other interventions (health and medical care, LSS).

The infection is found in two different homes.

Anna-Lena Sellergren, Head of Administration, Social Administration:

What reasons do you see?

- The infection comes in via staff, visitors or the customer himself.

In infection tracking, we have found people without visible symptoms.

Have you applied for a restraining order or are you planning to do so?

- No, we have advised against visiting and assess that it works, as it looks now.

How do you see the development since November?

- The development during November has been a reduced number of infected, and then increased in December again.

This follows well with the infection situation in Halland and Varberg.

Kungsbacka

  • 11 infected, of which 8 in nursing and care housing and three in the home care service.

Two accommodation or short-term accommodation are affected.

Lillemor Berglund Andreasson, Head of Administration, Care and Care:

What reasons do you see?

- There are several ways in for the infection but it is not possible to speculate, but we work actively with infection tracking and take the necessary measures in such a situation.

It is always the doctor who decides on infection tracing.

Have you applied for a restraining order or are you planning to do so?

- Our local temporary decision on a restraining order expires on December 22 and we will request that the restraining order be extended.

Vård & Omsorg in Kungsbacka municipality sees that, despite measures already taken, a sharper protection is required to protect individuals and to handle the increased workload that the business is now in around the work with increased social infection.

How do you see the development since November?

- The spread of infection in Halland is still high and the highest proportion of infected people is in the northern part, the part to which Kungsbacka municipality belongs.

- No effect of the strengthened recommendations to the public can be demonstrated at today's date.

Laholm

  • 11 infected, of which 6 in special housing and 5 in home care.

Confirmed cases are available at three different accommodations.

Cecilia Harley, Medical Officer:

What reasons do you see?

- It is impossible to answer.

It can be users who take the infection with them when they have been out in the community.

It can be asymptomatic employees and it can be visitors.

Have you applied for a restraining order or are you planning to do so?

- No, not at present

How do you see the development since November?

- We see an increased spread of infection in society and in all the municipality's activities.

It is a very worrying development, which we must all be helped to curb.

Falkenberg

  • 4 infected, all in their own housing, no established infection in nursing homes.

Johan Klingborg, social manager:

Have you applied for a restraining order or are you planning to do so?

- No, not at present.

How do you see the development since November?

- Concerns about the general development of infection.

Sees relatively high numbers of infected staff, which follows society's figures in general.

Shelf

  • No one has been found infected in elderly care, according to Maria Frobin, quality developer for rehab and nurses in Hylte municipality.

The information was collected on 15-18 December.
