According to the Swedish Public Health Agency, congestion must not occur in Christmas shopping this year.

Therefore, everyone has a responsibility to limit the number of purchases in stores, not to shop in groups and at times when many people stay in the stores.

And you should completely avoid unnecessarily staying in the premises of shopping and shopping centers.

Counts all visitors

To avoid congestion, Asec's shopping center uses the sensors you have at the entrances to count everyone who goes in and out through the entrances to have control over how many people are inside at the same time.

- There is a national recommendation from the property owner that each person should have 10-20 square meters of area on average and since Asecs is 50,000 square meters large, we have so far never been close to greater congestion than recommended, says Lars Bröms, center manager at Asecs shopping center.

Alternative methods of action

It has previously been possible to pick up ordered goods at special delivery stations or have goods delivered home if you live a maximum of a few miles from Asecs.

Many stores also have information signs with a maximum number of simultaneous customers.

But counting the number of visitors on site throughout the mall is another step in reducing the risk of congestion.

- With the help of technology, we have already had a look at how many are inside Asecs, but now we have activated an alarm that is sent out to the center management if it should approach and be 80% of the recommended number of people inside and then our staff to lock people in so that we do not exceed the recommendation, explains Lars Bröms.
