United We can not throw in the towel and is preparing to take new steps that will pave its way and that of its allies -ERC and Bildu- in the future General Council of the Judiciary.

The purple formation, a minority partner of the Government, is determined to support, in the processing of the proposal that seeks to limit the powers of the Council when it is in office, "any initiative" whose objective is to expand the "plural composition" of the governing body of the judges so that it is a reflection of the "parliamentary reality".

This has been explained by Gerardo Pisarello, first secretary of the Board of Congress and spokesperson for En Común Podem, the Catalan confluence of United We Can.

Pisarello has assured that there are "several technical alternatives, not yet closed" to promote this claim throughout the month of January, a period that will be authorized in parliament with the intention of approving as soon as possible the initiative that restricts the capacity of the CGPJ in office to make appointments.

Among these alternatives, figure, and Unidos Podemos does not rule it out, the possibility of submitting an amendment to the bill that will be processed in January, by virtue of which the original initiative that it registered with the PSOE is recovered, to reduce the majority of three fifths established in the Constitution to elect the members of the Council and place it on the bar of the absolute majority (176 votes), which would allow the Government and its allies to fully control the composition of the governing body of the judges, marginalizing the PP .

"Our position is clear. We defend that the Council has a plural composition and for that reason we will support all the alternatives that allow this plurality," said Pisarello.

The claim of United We Can and the forces that make up the so-called investiture bloc is to occupy at least three seats in the CGPJ and do so as soon as possible.

To this would be added a fourth chair sponsored by the PNV.

United We, in any case, hopes that any attempt at rapprochement in this area between the PSOE and the PP will fail in order to feel legitimized when it comes to demanding the reduction of parliamentary majorities and imposing on the socialists the negotiation with pro-independence, nationalists and nationalists.

The Minister of Justice, Juan Carlos Campo, prefers to insist on negotiating with the PP and is suspicious of the intention of lowering the necessary bar for the election of three-fifths to an absolute majority.

Campo defends that the requirement of three fifths is precisely the one that gives constitutional strength to the CGPJ
