Stina Nilsson, the Olympic cross-country winner who has switched to biathlon, will be able to experience international competition in her new sport in January.

Nilsson has been selected for the Swedish team for the opening round of the IBU Cup in Arber, Germany on 14-23

January.

- It's great to be one of those who grab the desired venue, Nilsson rejoiced.

In Pyeongchang, on the cross-country side, Nilsson, 27, who won sprint Olympic gold and celebrated World Championship gold twice in his skiing career, announced in March that he would switch to biathlete.

He has had time to compete in four national races, and on Monday for the first time in the test race reached a clean performance in one shooting range.
