Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita said that the Israeli liaison office will reopen in Rabat within the next two weeks.

He explained that the United States, Israel and Morocco are aware that "establishing peaceful, friendly and complete diplomatic relations is in the interest of Morocco and Israel, and would serve peace in the region."

For his part, Jared Kushner, senior advisor to US President Donald Trump, expressed his "happiness to participate in the inauguration of a new era of cooperation between Morocco and Israel."

In a speech in the Moroccan capital, Rabat, he said, "Both countries are taking a big step by declaring their commitment to resume diplomatic relations and develop economic cooperation between them."

In the same context, a communiqué to the Moroccan Royal Court said that Moroccan King Mohammed VI met in the Royal Palace in Rabat with a delegation that includes Kushner and Israeli National Security Adviser Meir Ben Shabat.

The communication added that the US presidential decree recognizing the Moroccanness of the Sahara, in addition to the announced measures to resume cooperation mechanisms with Israel;

They constitute major developments for the sake of strengthening regional peace and stability.

The statement added that the announced measures involved authorizing Israeli airlines to transport members of the Moroccan Jewish community and Israeli tourists to Morocco.

Among the measures announced - according to the communication - "the full resumption of diplomatic and official contacts and relations with Israel at the appropriate level, the encouragement of bilateral economic cooperation, and work for the reopening of the liaison offices in Rabat and Tel Aviv."

The Moroccan Royal Court said that King Mohammed VI renewed the firm position of the Kingdom of Morocco on the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution, and his commitment as head of the Jerusalem Committee to preserve the Islamic character of the holy city.
