Mainz (dpa) - FSV Mainz 05 parted ways with sports director Rouven Schröder.
The 45-year-old agreed on Tuesday, together with the Bundesliga club, to prematurely terminate the contract, which was originally dated to 2024, as shown in Table 17.

"I now had the feeling that it was better for the club and for me to clear the way so that Mainz 05 can reposition itself overall," said the 45-year-old.
The Mainz team made no statement in the press release on the future of coach Jan-Moritz Lichte, but announced a press conference for 6.15 p.m.
The plan is "that we should include Christian Heidel as an additional member alongside Stefan Hofmann, Rouven Schröder and Jan Lehmann in our board in order to better position the association for strategic questions of the future," said the chairman of the supervisory board, Detlev Höhne.
Heidel asked for a period to think about the current development.
Heidel once led Rheinhessen as a manager into the Bundesliga and ensured the successful times under Jürgen Klopp and Thomas Tuchel.
The 57-year-old was sports director at FSV from 1992 to 2016 and then for almost three years sports director at FC Schalke 04.
