Frederik Svane made a name for himself for the first time when he was the youngest German to achieve a world ranking number - for a six year old he achieved an outstanding 1699 Elo points.

He is the younger brother of national player Rasmus Svane.

The youth world championships took place online for the first time due to the corona pandemic. The game was not played with the classic thinking time, but each player started with 15 minutes and got ten seconds per move.
