22 December 2020 Air, sea and rail links with the UK will resume "tomorrow morning". This was announced in a tweet by the French Minister of Transport Jean-Baptiste Djebbari.

Entries into France, he specifies, will be allowed to French citizens, residents of France and "those who have a legitimate reason" to travel to the country, but will have to show "a negative test". Djebbari in his tweet thanks British Transport Minister, Grant Shapps, for the "fantastic work we have done in the last 48 hours".

Arrivals from the UK had been blocked on Sunday following the discovery of the new 'English' variant of the coronavirus.
