Hövelhof (dpa / lnw) - After a brutal attack on a young man in connection with drug shops, the police arrested six suspects.
They are said to have hit the 18-year-old in the East Westphalian Hövelhof with baseball bats and then taken him away in a van, the police and public prosecutor announced on Tuesday.
On the way, the young men are said to have beaten their victim with sticks and taken several cell phones and cash.
Witnesses observed the attack on Monday evening and alerted the police.
A patrol finally stopped the van just under half an hour later in Bielefeld.
The 18-year-old was taken to hospital, but left at night despite serious injuries.
The six suspects are between the ages of 18 and 23.
They did not provide any information about the attack.
Both the victim and the arrested have already been noticed with drug offenses, some have a criminal record for violence.
The police believe that drug deals are directly related to the robbery.
They should be brought before a judge on Tuesday.
The criminal investigation is ongoing.
