Cologne (dpa) - The handball Bundesliga (HBL) sees the corona cases at MT Melsungen with concern.

After Melsung's Silvio Heinevetter, Timo Kastening and Yves Kunkel tested positive, the game against TVB Stuttgart that was scheduled for this Tuesday evening was canceled.

"If Melsungen were to play internationally, that would hardly be catchable," said HBL managing director Frank Bohmann of the German press agency.

“Now maybe we can do something about the appointments.

But that is a huge challenge. "

Because of a two-week team quarantine in November, some of the North Hesse games had to be postponed.

MT is already lagging behind some other Bundesliga clubs by up to four games.

It is not yet clear whether the game will also be canceled on Boxing Day with the Ludwigshafen Owls.

The positive tests by Heinevetter and Kastening should also have an impact on the German national team, which will start their preparations for the World Cup in Egypt on January 3rd.

Both players are in the World Cup squad of national coach Alfred Gislason.
