Leipzig / Magdeburg (dpa / sa) - The German weather service has warned of gale-force gusts in the Harz.
Trees could be uprooted and roofs damaged in the Harz district during the night and on Tuesday, the weather service said on Monday evening.
The warning therefore applies from midnight to 4 p.m.
Residents were asked to watch out for falling branches, roof tiles, or objects.
"Close all windows and doors," it said.
People should keep their distance from buildings, trees, scaffolding and high-voltage lines, or even better: «Avoid being outdoors if possible!».
