It was at 6 pm on Wednesday 16 December that a man in his 20s was severely stabbed in Vasaparken.

Just hours later, a suspected perpetrator was arrested in his absence.

Two days later, the police were able to arrest him during a police operation in Uppsala, and they also arrested another suspect.

He too, in his 20s.

On Monday, Västmanland District Court decided that the two men should be arrested.

One is arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and the other with aiding and abetting attempted murder.

They are both detained for probable cause, which is the stronger degree of suspicion.

They both deny the act.

Prosecution must be brought no later than 4 January.

The police have previously gone out and said that they have reason to believe that the knife-injured man and the perpetrator knew each other.
