Munich (dpa / lby) - A man from the environment of the rocker group Hells Angels has been sentenced to nine years and six months in prison for two attempts at manslaughter.

According to a spokesman, the district court Munich I saw it as proven on Monday that the man had rammed a knife into two brothers in a Munich club in 2015.

The verdict is not yet legally binding.

Initially, the "Bild" newspaper reported.

The court ordered the man to be placed in a rehab clinic.

If he successfully completed therapy there, he could be released halfway down the prison street.

The man was originally charged with attempted murder.

The trial against the accused had been running since November 2019. One of the two victims appeared as a joint plaintiff. The media had reported that he was said to have had connections to a competing rocker gang and that he had repeatedly provoked the Hells Angels during the process. These, in turn, arrived in such large numbers at almost every trial date that the court had to call in reinforcements from the police every time.
