  According to reports, Ruguid had served as the head of the Peace Diplomacy Planning Group of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of South Korea, the Security Strategy Secretary and the Peace Planning Secretary of the National Security Office, and was responsible for the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula and the establishment of peace mechanisms.

He also served as a spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other important positions.

  On the 21st local time, Ruguid stated at the office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that he would work hard to establish a close communication channel with representatives of various countries as soon as possible to make meaningful progress in the peace process on the peninsula.
